    Help Stock is dying

Hello everyone, A few days ago my jawfish died relatively suddenly. Tested parameters and everything looked okay. Now today all of my fish look as though they have bumps or flakes of skin on them. Especially my clown goby. Any suggestions on what's happening and how to fix it?

    Protein Skimmer selection

Only problem with that skimmer is that with my hood setup I have only about 2 inches to work with so I doubt it would/could fit. Any ideas for one that is HOB but outside the tank?

    Protein Skimmer selection

Well if that's the case with used skimmers than I'd best not mess with it, my knowledge of skimmers is little to none.

    Protein Skimmer selection

I kind of figured $100 and good would be tough. That said I'm wanting a skimmer as I plan to add more corals over time. All I have at the moment is some sort of tree coral. My concern is that I already may have maxed out my bio load capacity because let's just say I got kind of fish happy ha ha

    Protein Skimmer selection

Hey Guys! I haven't been on here in quite awhile but my 36gal project is almost done. As of now I have two clowns, two clown goby's, a jawfish, and six line wrasse. All have been doing great! But now the time has come to add a skimmer to the tank as my water clarity seems to retain alot of...

    Potential Problem with Jawfish

Hey guys over the last few days my yellow head jawfish has developed a sore of some sort on his side by the gill. Don't have the faintest idea what it is. His other side looks fine and he is just as active as normal. Here's some pictures.

    Stock Suggestions

Haha maybe it was a trick question! And okay I think I've settled on doing a firefish and maybe a couple blue chromis as per Beengirls suggestion. Just kind of concerned whether or not the bio load would be too much! I am however great at doing my weekly PWC since I'm running a cannister filter

    Stock Suggestions

Yea I can't do any puffers because of tank size and I do have some inverts already, and yea I've been toying around with the Chromis but I dunno about them. I've read that they do best in groups of three so that might be pushing the capacity of my tank. Also in relation to the firefish when you...

    Stock Suggestions

I agree that the angel may be a bad idea indeed. I just would really like some more color and activity in the tank. The clowns I have are my favorite and they swim and dance all throughout the water column. Just don't know anything else that would be like that. What do you know about the...

    Stock Suggestions

I would definitely enjoy a skunk cleaner shrimp! That's a good idea but I'm still kinda thinking about fish. What's your opinion on getting a fish that I know will outgrow my tank, but when it's real small to start with? My lfs has some bicolor Angels for dirt cheap. If I got one it would be...

Freshwater to Marine on a Budget

Okay guys now almost a month after set up, I have gone through the cycle fine. About two weeks ago I introduced livestock. I now have two Clowns, a yellow clown goby, and a yellow headed jawfish. Don't plan on introducing any more for awhile. Parameters are great zero across the board. I...

Freshwater to Marine on a Budget

Okay I don't think I'm going to get an overly large CUC, probably just four or five snails with a Cleaner shrimp. And I think I'm going with the marineland fixture. The reef capable with timer. It's a 36 gallon bowfront which is rather deep. That said I'm not getting into corals until I get a...

    New Salt Set Up

Some LFS owners I'd wager you could trust. That said however I too am in the process of setting up my first SW tank. It's about week three and my cycle is complete so now I've got my clowns in. I however did start out with what I was told were "chromis" to help get the cycle started. Upon...

Best fish for a saltwater newbie

Whats your opinion on Orange Honey "Chromis"? My local lfs says that they are chromis not Damsels, would they interfere with any of the fish mentioned above? I keep finding contradictory information all over the place.
