    Cichlid capable plants.

What kind of cichlid? Some are vegetarian and the only plants that can be in their tank that they won't try to munch on are anubias and java fern. But, other cichlids could care less about what is in there and still others who would uproot anything planted.

Does my Albino Pleco have ich? (Pic)

Yes it does appear to be ich. I prefer the heat salt method of addressing it. Slowly raise the temp in the tank to 86F and add 1 tsp of non iodized salt per gallon of water. At 86F ich can no longer reproduce. Keep the temperature that high for a minimum of 10-14 days, which is the life cycle of...

    mixing rams

Plenty of room.....and the Bolivians will not hurt the cory cats....mine lived with 14 of them and the most that ever happened is daddy ram would chase them away from the nesting spot. Once the cories were 6+ inches away he went back to stand guard again. Bolivians really are not equipped to do...

    mixing rams

The Bolivians are a much easier and forgiving fish. 20 NA is not above what they can handle. AND I had Bolivians spawn and have some surviving eggs with ph of 8-8.5. I am sure I would have had a better survival rate if the ph had been below 8, but you can have them and have them spawn in your water.

    mixing rams

    Honestly, probably not.

    mixing rams

Bolivians will be fine with all of those. They are no more aggressive than the blue/golds just less sensitive. The golds are just as sensitive as the blues as they are just a color variant of the same fish. The Bolivians are a different species from a different area.

    mixing rams

With a ph that high, I would go with Bolivians unless you just want to have the blue and gold. Bolivians tolerate higher ph easier. Their spawns also will tolerate the higher ph better than the blue/golds.

    Plastic plants?

Give them a chlorine bath which will kill any residual nasties. A cup of bleach to 5 gal of water. Rinse well, put in another bucket of water and use declor.....add to tank 24 hours later just to make sure chlorine properties have dissipated.

What Kind of Snail is This?

Cut a 20 oz soda bottle in half so the top half will invert into the bottom half. Put cucumber in the bottom of the bottom half and put the top half in the bottom half. Secure together with fishing line. I make the line long enough that it will hang over the top edge of the tank while the...

What Kind of Snail is This?

Those are pond snails...and they do reproduce like mad. Squish them as babies if you see them small and your fish will eat the squished stuff. If you over feed, they will take over your tank.

    What are these?

And no, it isn't a big deal. Just as you find them remove them. I think all of my heaters have lost some of their paint
  18. snoopy65

    What are these?

That is the very rare plastic star nematode. I haven't seen one of those since......about 3-4 months after I bought a new heater....I think they multiply quickly as the heater ages. :D Sorry, I couldn't help it.

bristlenose & pictus cats veg ideas

Any lettuce but iceberg. The easiest way to weight it is to stick a fork in it with most of the veggie on the back side of the fork. Lay the fork in the tank tines down after 24 hours remove what has not been eaten.

    IASI(illegal alien snail immigrants)

More than likely pond snails or ramshorn snails....both have babies by themselves. In other words they will multiply if you miss even one and over feed your tank. They do not eat plants but will take over if you are in a habit of feeding more food to your fish than they can eat.
