    Plugging a drilled tank

Okay, so thick glass siliconed on top of it and then seal the edges of the glass should be fine. I might sandwich it, glass piece sealed inside the tank. Let it cure for like a week. Seal from the outside. Let it cure. Seal on another piece of glass from the bottom. We'll see what the tank looks...

    Plugging a drilled tank

The bottom? I haven't seen the tank yet to know where exactly they are. I'm going to go look at it tomorrow. It was a reef tank if that that helps with a guess as to where they might be.

    Plugging a drilled tank

I found a great deal on a 125, but it's drilled. I am putting this up in my science classroom. It will be sitting on top of the lab counter, not on a stand. I don't have space in my room to just put it on the stand. I have no way/am not allowed to drill through the stone counters to run things...

    Large South American Tank Size

I'm not sure the best way to ask this. Are gallons more important or area? A 120 will fit in the space I have for sure as it's only 4ft long. Could you stock that closer to like a 125 or does it need to stock closer to say a 75 because it's so short? So I'm kind of looking towards 2 options for...

    Large South American Tank Size

Bahaha great white shark level. That's awesome. I'd really just like to get some (5-7) largeish sized cichlids. I kind of want them each to be a different type. If you went with readily/easily/commonly available cichlids, how would you stock it?

    Large South American Tank Size

So it's better to do like one of each kind then? Or does it depend on the type of fish? How do you know which ones are worse then others with aggression? In my research I just keep seeing that they are all aggressive. Lol. Stocking cichlids is so much more complicated which is why it's taken me...

    Large South American Tank Size

Mk, so not enough space. Lol. This is why we ask. The area I have can for sure do a 4ft tank, possibly a 6, and can go 2ft deep. I'll measure when I get up there tomorrow to know for sure how big I can go. Of the fish I listed, because they are readily available in my area, what would you use...

    Large South American Tank Size

I'm thinking of setting up a large South American Tank in my science classroom. I am thinking of doing an Oscar, severums, blood parrots, Jack dempsey, convict, pleco. In it's final/adult stage, how big it a tank should I go to house these? Also, does this look like an okay combination? How...

    Severums

Anything in particular you'd suggest? I have a school of about 6 Columbians, and around 8 white skirts. I just miss having fish the size of my hand in the tank. Would there be a different centerpiece type fish you'd suggest?

    Severums

Hey all, I was thinking of getting some severums to replace my 8 year old breeding pair of Angels in my 65g community tank. The tank looks so empty without them. ? Anyway, I haven't really found any info one way or another on how many to keep together. Is this a single specimen fish, or could...

    65 gallon planted stocking

Hey all, After 8 years, the last of my angelfish pair passed. I bought them as an adult pair, so I'm not sure how old they actually were. This has left a large hole in my tank. I'm thinking of doing a restock but am wondering on suggestions. The tank is a 65 gallon planted Amazon type biotope...

    25g tank ideas

In the distant future, I may consider re-stocking my 25g tank. The tank has 3 amazon swords, and 2 anubias along with several fake plants, and 3 large pieces of rose quartz. Sand substrate. I would like a tank with a lot of color and movement, that looks "full". I already have a platy...

    Moving

I will be moving to a new state, and am wondering what to do with my fish tanks? We are moving about 6 hours away, so a pretty lengthy treck for fish I would say. I have a 10 gallon, that is currently WAY over run with platys. I've had platys before and had them breed, but they were NEVER...

    Betta Fins

I sort of did a modified cycle. I took the bio sponge from the 5 gallon tank and put it in the filter of my big tank, which has been up and running for quite a while, for about 2ish weeks. You know until it got all gross looking :). I also added lots of extra substrate to the bottom of my big...

    Betta Fins

Yeah. Seeing him not next to the other bettas he doesn't look that bad. When he was next to all the others with their long flowing tails he looked terrible. So just do frequent water changes and that should fix it? How much water should I change and how often?

    Betta Fins

Okay, so after thinking about him for 2 days, I went back and got Neptune. What a terrible experience that was. I added pics of what he looks like. They aren't great, and I could only get 2 before my camera died. Go figure. Any help fixing his fins would be great. I really want to vent...

    Betta Fins

I'm setting up a 5 gallon tank at work for a betta. I've been testing/monitoring the chemistry. Today it was 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5-10 nitrate. I want to let it run until Monday before adding my fish. With Easter vacation this weekend I wont be at work Fri-Mon and dont want to leave him...

    Mickey Mouse Platies

I would say if you are not prepared for babies, get all of the same gender. I like seeing the babies, and my platies are in a tank with other fish, so only 1 or 2 of the babies ever survive.

    Betta and Ghost shrimp

Would there be a different type of shrimp that would stay smaller or be better with a betta? or some other cleaning organism?
  20. Rose22

    Mickey Mouse Platies

I'd say at least 10 gallon. You can keep 3-4 in that. They dont do as well on their own, so 1 male and a 2-3 females in a 10 gallon would be fine.

    Betta and Ghost shrimp

I am setting up a 5 gallon aquarium on my desk at work. I think I have decided to put a male betta in there (maybe divide the tank and do 2? Thoughts?). I was thinking of putting a few ghost shrimp in there first. I read the shrimp are less likely to be eaten if they are there before the...

    Mickey Mouse Platies

Platies are hands down my favorite fish. They are super easy to care for. They come in a zillion colors. They all have their own personalities. They are readily available, and they are cheap. I love them. Enjoy them.

    GBR eggs

I was walking by my tank today, and noticed my GBR guarding a leaf on a sword plat LOADED with eggs. She is the only Ram in the tank, so what will happen to the eggs? Are they just going to die? I feel bad for her going through all this work basically for no reason. What should I do?

    Stand out fish

Its a 3ish gallon tank I'm planning to set up at work and want to put a betta in there. I'm wondering what color betta to get. He will be the only fish in the tank. I really want him to stand out from the background.

    Stand out fish

I was wondering what color fish to get that will really pop in a natural tank. The tank will have natural tan colored sand (not white but normal colored), broad leaf anubias, Lucky bamboo, driftwood, and a few pieces of rose quartz. I will be getting a single betta, so I really want him to...
