    My first invertebrate. (CPO Problem)

It appears the cray does indeed stop eating after a while. I just must have been pretty hungry. After 2 bloodworms, a few shrimp granules, and a small piece of algae wafer.. he finally stopped eating and got cozy on a plant. I took out the remaining wafer and until I can judge correctly how...

    My first invertebrate. (CPO Problem)

I tossed in a 3rd of a disk in and the cray snatched it up dragged it under the plants and is now munching.

    My first invertebrate. (CPO Problem)

Fluval Plant Stratum. It seems the cray has a hard time navigating and getting its footing. It looks like it is on ice skates slipping around. It isn't very appealing to see, but i'm probably anthropomorphizing a bit. I'll add another silly question, can you over feed a cray.. because with...

    My first invertebrate. (CPO Problem)

I caved, the huge test set I bought online is going to take about another 10 days to get here, so I bought a few cheaper sets to hold me over. I really like the little guy, he's very entertaining. It isn't the most flawless specimen as he's missing a few digits on his legs and thus limps...

    My first invertebrate. (CPO Problem)

So over the weekend I decided to pick up my first addition to my planted tank. I grabbed a CPO I've been eyeing for a little while at the pet store. It has settled into the tank quite well, climbing the plants, general walking around. It has so far completely ignored the tiny clay pot caves I...

CTPK Bettas - Interest and Questions

Still no word on these guys. All I can gather is that they are obviously sightly bigger but of unknown dimensions, are slightly more aggressive, and need the same care as all other bettas. I've not been able to contact anyone who owns one yet. Although I've tried.

CTPK Bettas - Interest and Questions

The only thing that I can find at the moment is that they are bigger than normal pet store variants of bettas. Given what they are usually kept in (small fish bowls, cubes, those plastic betta tanks) my 7.8 gal should be more than enough. I still can't find any info on their actual dimensions...

CTPK Bettas - Interest and Questions

I've been looking for a type of betta for a while now and I've fallen in love with the CTPK variant. Other than how pretty they are I cannot find much more information on them. So some quick questions: How big do they get? Do they have any special needs? Is the care pretty much the same as a...

    First Planted/Invert Tank (CPO)

I have just been cycling, and dealing with plants this week. I misplaced my old test kit so I have a new one coming very soon. I've been holding off on critters until I get it so I can check the hardness and ph values. I expect my treated tapwater is well within the acceptable norms and plan...

    First Planted/Invert Tank (CPO)

CPOs are the dwarf Crays, they are a lil big for betta lunch but the same applies for their fry. Thanks though. :P

    First Planted/Invert Tank (CPO)

Here is a quick question concerning CPOs and Bettas and I am fairly certain I am getting both of those fairly soon. What sort of hardness and Ph am I looking at that will allow the fish and the inverts to live comfortably. I'd rather not push extremes.

    First Planted/Invert Tank (CPO)

Thanks for getting back to me. I've pretty much discovered that my Nutrafin Plant Gro if dosed lightly (once a week) or so should be fine. At least that's the info I'm getting elsewhere. Rocks - I have finally found some good resources for and i'll probably be going with some natural slate...

    First Planted/Invert Tank (CPO)

For about a week now I've been setting up my first Invert focused tank, it'll be the first tank that I've ever set up that had any inverts at all so I'm pretty excited. Its the Fluval 7.9 gal aquatic plant kit. It is currently only loaded up with a few Amazon swords which are doing well...
