thor32766: I don't know if the sand is there or not
robertfah: No, this is not live sand. Live sand is a waste of money. The dead sand with the live rock will be live sand in a couple of weeks.
The shrimp gives the same benefits of the old "damsel cycle method." It just cuts out the cost of fish, the possibility of killing the fish, and having to remove the damsel from all that live rock once the cycle is over. Many people use the damsels as lab rats to get the cycle over. I'm not...
The only problem I might see is this: The Figi live rock comes all the way from across the globe. The rock is not kept under water, as is sometimes the case with the keys or gulf rock. All lot of die off has already occurred before it got to your tank. Is there enough to start your cycle...
Yup, that's them. Great addition to my tank. Mine live in two seperate holoes in the live rock. Like you said, they are some of the fastest eaters I've ever seen.
I have a 65 gallon FOWLR tank. I have kept my tank at 1.025. This is what I read, and was told. What are your opinions on the SG?
Is this a good SG? I have just recently read that a SG of about 1.018 is where I should be shooting for. Comments please......
I Googled "Acanthemblemaria castroi." All the pictures look close, but not exactly. The ones I saw at the LFS are about two inches long, a light green to brown "camoflauge" pattern, with crimson red eyes. Cool looking buggers.
I have no other corals. I have been maintaining a FOWLR tank fo about one year. I have two O Clowns. I hope the host my new addition. What would be their minimum lighting?
I have been trying to establish a decent level of pods in my tank. I put in an in-tank fuge, about three months. I was keeping a ball of cheato(sp?) in there. I have yet to see a growth in pods. My tank has been up and running for about one year. I was thinking about ordering a pod starter...
I have a 65 gallon FOWLR. I have a wet/dry with protein skimmer. I know that most people don't like the wet/drys for the high amounts of nitrates. Is there a coral that can tolerate the high nitrates produced from the wet/dry?
It might be an old thread but this was the first time I've ever seen it. I hope some parents don't find that and think they can set up the perfect "Nemo" tank on Christmas Eve for their children the night before. I spent two months staring at an empty box of water praying for the day I could...
Can someone give the pros and cons of the blue and orange linka stars as they relate to a FOWLR tank. I have a 65 gallon with wet/dry, protien skimmer, and in tank fuge. See profile for fish inhabitants. Thanks in advance.
