Ok I have had a 29 gallon going for about 6 months now, mollies, barbs, and tons of fake plants..lol...But I tried my hand at a planted tank with a 10g and the plants outgrew the tank literally. So I decided to change the 29 to a planted. I got everything set-up..went with a layer of the same...

How bad of an idea is this?

I would take the damsel and acclimate him to the 10 at the same time you aclimate your clowns to the 38. Move a few things around in the 38 to confuse the damsel and effectively break his territory..a few days after the clowns have been in and the damsel has been in the 10, then put the damsel...

The first time I go to a fish shop, the first thing I ask is can I put a tang in my 10g nano....If he shoots me a WTF look then I'm in a good place, but you'd be surprised at how many will show you the tangs with a big smile on thier face.

our son decided to physically remove his mollie from its tank to tell it that it could not go near the filter or it would get eaten up and spit out, dont think this is very humane, but it works.

    HOB overflows

http://www.guarriello.net/overflow.htm I am using this setup for an overflow. I just followed the design this guy made and it works great....Suction is never broken, even if you drain the tank...I tested this it works great. Is the drilled look without the holes.

    Sand question

the funny part is he snuck into a statepark after dark to get the sand...lol...IF he had only listened to everybody that told him to rinse it he would have found the thing before it made it in the tank....But no he kept saying your just going to wash away the bacteria if you mess with...

    Sand question

Don't do it....I have a freind in FL that used beach sand. He got a couple of 5 gallon buckets worth, got it home, no rinse no nothing just dumped it in the tank and spread it out. After a few weeks of the tank being full of water and sand he noticed this white thing floating on top....IT WAS A...

    New Here and to Tanks

I wouldn't waste time with setting upa ten gallon. I did this and ended up spending more a month later to move into a bigger tank and used the 10 gallon as a sump. The reason it is difficult in a 10 gal was the amount of water is so quick to change the parameters. Think about 40 wats of lights...

    chech this out...(update)

The overflows are made of a 2 inch PVC pipe coupling with a cap and a 7/8 inch hole as close to the rear corner as I could get it. I just took my dremel tool and cutt slots in the top for the skimmers and stuck the 3/4 pipe through the hole in the bottom, I did have to silicone the bottom pipe...

    chech this out...(update)

So far so good. I have had everything up and running for 48 hours as of last night, so I transferred all my stuff from my ten gallon over to the new tank. Ph levels, salinity and tempature were the same so there was no real issues except finding the snails..lol... No leaks, no floods, and other...
