Hi, I have a new tank 10 gal tank fully cycled. In the past few days it seems that there has been a out break of red color algie I'm assuming. Not sure if this is ok, good or bad. Your advice would be much appriciated!

I'm new to the hobby, but live rocks r 2to6 dollars per lb. They recommend 1 lb per 1 gal. No upkeep, the rocks just helps with the filtration of the water

Hi all! I purchased a 10 gallon tank just a little over a week ago, and felt in luv right away with this great hobby. With the tank I got a 3 layer filter, 1 live rock, 3 hermit crabs, 1 bottom feeder fish (black and white dots) sleeps in the sands at night, 2 corals and 4 demsels. I fist...

And to answer the question I didn't cycle the tank which I think cause the fishes to not be very happy, and added on to the inital problem. Past few days the last green demsle has been way more active, hopefully it will live a longer life than its predecessors =)

Ammonia, nitrite was @ 0, and nitrate is low forgot the number. Filter is a three stage one, with sponge, carbon, and some white stuff.. (newb).. another thing was that for the first few days I had no heater, so water temps were probably in the mid to low 60s..... I also added another live...
