It depends on the size of your tank. Also Cory's don't really eat the algae off things. If your tank is smaller than 40 gallons I would suggest Nerite snails. They eat everything including algae and will not reproduce easily in freshwater. Pleco's aren't worth their bio load.

I only change my filter when the flow through it is bad, which is around 4 to 5 months. I rinse it in the old tank water I suck out every week during my water change. I saw one of my danios swimming funny so I put him in QT. I noticed his fins are pretty raggedy. I looked at the other danios and two out of the four in the main tank has some raggedy fins also, but no other marks or difference in body. What is going on with my fish?

How often do to do water changes, filter changes? Do you have an algae problem?

I also have 4 guppies and 5 tetras with them. I put 24? That's a strange number. I meant 25. I also have 5 assassin snails to control my pest snail problem. They'll come out for food, but any little movement by me and they are hiding for a couple seconds, then back out.
