    betta breeding

Can anyone describe the eggs development stage. My friends betta had spawned and Im a bit concerned as she was expecting tails to pop out after 24 hours as that is what all our research said. It's by 24 hours and the eggs are no bigger from the moment of spawning. Should The eggs be alto bigger...

    Betta breeding!

Hi my friends betta had eggs and it's around 24 hours later and they haven't changed, should they be bigger by this stage as its hard to believe theirs a wee fish in there. I don't think they're anywhere near ready for a tail to burst out any advice from someone that's seen the eggs development

Anyone ever painted the back of their tank?

I used a sponge roller mate and as I said it bubbled up and it took me hours to get it back off. I went back to a brush after noticing the bubbles and flattend them all out. Once it was dry it looked great. Put my light on and all of a sudden the bubbles had left there Mark and it was horrible.

    has my cycle stalled

Ph is usually near seven as I stay in Scotland and we have no problems in attaining fresh water lol. I'm going to skip the flora boost as the water in my tank has been Brown for two days now. I don't have denominator at the moment so will get some and start again

Anyone ever painted the back of their tank?

I didn't have a great experience painting mine and it took me three hours picking it off. It can look lovely when done right. My tank looked lovely until I put my light on and I found my blue paint turned looked brighter and there were black marks or cracks forming. I think black would be best...

    has my cycle stalled

I have been cycling my tank for around four weeks now and got really good seed material. This went in at the end of week one and got more in week two. I would put my ammonia in until it went to 4ppm. My tank would use all this in two days. I got plants and added them and they started to die off...

    Fish keep dying

Most of fishkeeping is trial and error. I'm sure someone with co2 experience will be able to tell you how to fond an equilibrium point

    Fish keep dying

Did you not have an aerator before, if not it's possible. I haven't used co2 before but it definitely sounds like a lack off oxygen. You'll need to find a balance that suits fish and plants. Have you got a specimen plant that requires large amounts of co2. I prefer having the fish provide the...

Sounds fine to me mate. If your wood sinks you are good to go. Check if the stones have veins running through them. If they do it could leech metal into the water.apart from that good work

    Dying plants

I have recently set up my tank and put my plants on last week. Bigot a mixed bundle of 25 plants. My tank is going through a faithless cycle so no fish as of yet. I'm at the end of the cycle and have nitrates. They were quite high readings for nitrate but the plants seem to have taken the...

    noob

Cool I don't really know what it is lol. I found a guy on Facebook that sells fish and accesories and he was selling 25 plants for £5. Which is around $4 or 5 I think which is a good deal In the UK. I got interpet flora boost as I think they'r dying off. How long does it roughly take for them to...

    noob

That's a bit harsh considering people have cycled with fish for centuries. Fish have adapted to survive in all sorts of conditions and some fish will take it in their stride. I made the decision to do a fishless cycle and see it through but I don't judge anyone who chooses a fish cycle.

    Tanked

There are always going to be an opposition in any walk of life. Kill the whales or save the whales. Stop the shark finning don't stop the finning. I agree with you though, probably because I don't see myself as an advanced aquarist. I would only have a tank bred and raised specimen. But I think...

It's a secure lid. I'm undecided on wether or not to get a Siamese algae instead of the Fox. Yeah a khuli loach mate. I'm not sure about the plants I think there's a type of swordplant don't think it's Amazon cos it has red in it. The grass stuff I think it's Vilas or something and then the...

    medusa died

It was cycled, I say no nitrate but I mean low readings that wouldn't harm a fish. Her tank has some guppies plates a ram a Cory and a couple of honey gourami, it went through a full cycle and has been set up for around four months. It's got me baffled mate. She got rid of alot of the...

    medusa died

Can anyone tell me why my friends medusa died. The water was perfect the test kit showed no ammonia no nitrite and no nitrate. She just got it and it died a day later. Surely the transport couldn't of done it

    Tanked

Even the most diehard hobbyist would kill for one of their tanks. Absolutely amazing the tanks they produce. With adequate filtration the tanks would be fine. It's not for the viewers to decide wether the tanks are perfect or not but the customer. I'd love one of their tanks and if you don't...

    Cycling help!!!

If you have live plants they could be using your ammonia. Try keep it at four or as close to it as you can until you have high nitrates then drop ammonia to 2. One the 2 gets turned to nitrate in 24 hours try again and your done. I suggest a smaller drop lol
