    Tangs

Cleaner shrimp do not help with ich, only copper/cupramine and hypo are proven treatments. Most tangs will soon out grow a 55 g tank, but are filled with character. Welcome to the hobby!

How to run phosguard/purigen in a sumpless setup

You could use a TLW phosban reactor.

Low flow at the bottom of tank

Aim a power head at the front of the tank.

Is it ok to add some more cured live rock to an established 1 1/2 yr old reef?

If it's cured for sure and there is no die off from transporting it, yes, no problem.

    Hyposalinity not working- Hippo suffering

A drawback is that it will take sometime to get the salinity up to where u can use copper and that might be too long. Are you using garlic/selcon in his food? I hope it goes well, I just finished hypo for my hippo and using cupramine for some others, lost a yellow tang and starry blennie, it's...

    20g convert

Not sure about the lights as I use LEDs but there are lots of different types of algae pellets for feeding.

    Jebao wp40 or wp25 for 70 gallon?

I'd suggest 2x wp25. I had one in my 110g and it was plenty powerful but 2x covered much better and gave better options.

    Starr blenny

Nope, only a few are sand sifters....my starry is a funny and grumpy old man fish but rarely aggressive.

    20g convert

Check live aquaria when it comes to recommended tank sizes for livestock, might give you some ideas.

    20g convert

Clowns are pretty tough and would do fine in a 20g. I do love my starry blenny though.

    Replacement water

You can make water to have on hand, but always check the salinity/temp before adding it to your tank. Ideally, mix the water and have a heater/pump to keep it circ and at temp, ready to use at any time. Then use it for your pwc and then make more.

    Water change

It's not a big deal. Some people wear gloves but I don't think the majority care. Although, ensure there is no contaminants on your hands (soap, oils etc). I think it's a good practise to rinse hands in water alone and dry thoroughly.

    Water change

    In the big picture, minor.

Blue reef chromis are around $20.

    20g convert

Two that I have are a kauderns cardinal and a blue reef chromis. Both interesting, the cardinal is calm and never bothered, the chromis is a mid tank swimmer and brings out shy fish.

I think you're close to max with 4 fish, if the goby was a neon maybe another but.......I love my starry blenny, very cool fish with attitude, recommended.

    Power filter any good??

You are using Live sand as well as the live rock, correct?

    Power filter any good??

Sure, now many people replace the media in the filter with things like filter floss, carbon, chemi-pure, purigen etc. After watching your parameters you'll get an idea of what issues you may have. Did you mention any power heads?

    Cycling a tank

I don't think you have to but to 100% confirm your cycle you can dose and then recheck, there should be no nitrates or ammonia.

    Power filter any good??

There are several skimmers that will work, what they do is extend your water change frequency (very basically), are they necessary? Not really but they may allow you not to do PWC every few days depending on bio load.

    Cycling a tank

Big water change, retest and maybe start stocking......slowly.

Ocellaris disease, white formation under fin

Could be brooklynella or velvet. Do some google and see what path to take.

    Power filter any good??

I'm converting a 33 long QT into a permanent display tank and I'll be using a AC 50 power filter and a slim skim protein skimmer with no sump. There are lots of options for HOB filters and skimmers.

    a little guidance needed

After a bit if research I favored the hydors for performance and especially price. I had an opportunity to pick up a jebao 25 super cheap and I liked it so much I bought another. The hydors give you lots of options but if you need several ph or lots of gpm the jebao ph are really good.

    Expirience with a 33L

I decided to convert my 33L quarentine tank into a full reef tank. It has an AC 50 power filter and a hydor 425 power head. Any suggestions for placement of the power filter/power heads/heater etc from expirience? To answer a question before it's asked....no, not exposed to copper.
