So I now have a second batch of fry. Count is approximately 28. Momma is only 2 weeks away from the next batch. Gonna be overrun soon.

Pwc on all my tanks. Starting to prepare for my platy having more fry.

I now have a total of 27 fry in this batch. :D

I think I'll wait cause a couple of my female betta have grown to be quite large compared to all my other betta.

I listed the fish in the main tank in the first post. The fry are almost an inch in length and a cm in width. They are curious buggers too. Always come to the glass when I am near their tank.

Did nothing with my tanks today, but I discovered i have at least 7 more platy fry that came today. At least I had already moved the mom into her own tank. :-)

Pwc in all my tanks, and fed my platy fry. They r still going strong. I was finally able to put in my homemade background in my 30g! So excited! Pics attached, sry about the low lighting.

Was gifted two air pumps, so I added air stones to my three small tanks and my 30g yesterday. Today I was able to find for free everything I needed to make an aquarium background. Yay! ( gotta love craft crazy people who overstock on things). So I started that project today. I will post pics...

Unfortunately I don't have the money for a heater at the moment. Ill see if I can find someone with a spare. The algae isn't bad yet, just starting to show. Thanks anyway.

Question. I have read that platy fry can eat algae. M y little 5 gallon my fry are in is starting to grow algae due to using a light to keep the water heated. I am doing pwc every other day and am watching how much I feed them vs how much they eat. My question is should I worry about cleaning...

No she wasn't in a trap. I got home really late last night and forgot. She was in her own tank filled with anacharis. I moved her into the trap this morning in case she wasn't done, one I made with cut outs in the bottom. She swam right into it on her own.

Never had fry before. They are about a day old.

The babies are here! So far I count 7 or 8 fry.

I was looking to trade depending on how many there are, and how many survive. I still have plenty of room in the main tank as well and was looking to add more fish to it anyway. We will see. Ill keep this thread updated. Thanks for the help!

Ty. I made a fry saver for the tank just in case. Her belly is starting to look really flat today so I put her in it tonight. It has cut outs big enough for fry to fall through (an inch in length and a cm wide) and the tank is full of anacharis that were taken from the tank she had been in...

Update! All my girls are fine. The one I had to remove is still happy, but still has a bit of a belly. Girl with the constant stripes still has them but she is no longer the small one of the tank. She now happily hangs with the other bettas and platys and is the same size as the other girls in...

Did pwc on my 4 smaller tanks. Getting my 3 larger tanks tomorrow as well as my qt. might wake up to baby platys in the next few days. Wish me luck.
