    Does this mean my tank is cycled?

    I tested my tank water yesterday, Ammo was 4ppm, Nitrites 5.0ppm or above (it's hard to tell) and Nitrates 40- 80ppm. I've tested my water again this morning, Ammo 0ppm, Nitrites 0ppm and Nitrates either 0 or 5.0ppm? I thought when a tank has fully cycled there are meant to be nitrates? Or...

    Tank cycle is finally on the move!

    After waiting 6 weeks or more I finally have a lower ammonia level, nitrites and nitrates! I'm so excited :D I'm now one step closer to getting my new Betta! I don't know if It's because I added TSS or removed the carbon from my filter but either way I'm happy :)

    First fishless cycle, am I doing it right?

    So I'm in the process of doing my first fishless cycle, only a few weeks ago I'd never even heard of cycling and I'm determined to do things the right way before I get any fish.
