Well I have no idea what changed, but the dino algae is not growing back since our water change last week. Last week, I did a really good cleaning of the rocks and got all the debris off. I raised the lights a good 4 inches, added a piece of plexiglass on top of the right hand side of the tank...
This week when we do the water change, I plan on changing rhe reactor media. Even when the media was brand new and I did some manual removal, it didnt do anything. I had a peice of plexy glass laying around that I put on top of the left side of the tank, I dont have one for the right side just...
I had it directional to the filter outflow and it wasnt growing there either. The I moved it to a place with less flow and still nothing. This is like the third type of moss I have attempted to grow in this tank.
And yes, thay sword is about a year and half old. Its huge. Haha
Looking for some advice regarding my moss. I cannot seem to get it to grow :( I took this moss out of one of my other tanks, where I wish it would grow less, and put it into this tank where I wish it would grow more! I honestly cannot even remember what type of moss it is...I believe christmas...
I love my t5 lights, I don't think I will go LED until they are out of date haha. LED's are most cost effective in the long term because you don't have to replace the bulbs.
Did you check on ebay for something used or craigslist?
I can turn down the light on the left but I cannot adjust the one on the right. I guess ill try it. I will have to see if I have something laying around the house I can use. I actually think you might be right because when we had a glass canopy, it was manageable but we had to get rid of it...
My ralphies do that. I have two in my tank and they always try to squeeze though little areas lol. Then they get lazy and instead of moving and going in a different direction, they just lay there for a while. One of them leans himself between one of my plants and the tank wall and he "lays"...
My guess would be your lighting but I am not really familiar with LED's. I am still using t5's. Hopefully someone who has more experience with them will read this in the morning. If it makes you feel better, my Cabomba has like totally stunted. I have no idea why. Everything else in my tank is...
Nah, no house lights. Just the bedroom light, which is on the ceiling pretty far from the tank. That is on maybe 5 hours a day at night. Only one of the lights is adjustable. The one that is adjustable, it is turned on all the way, yes.
I guess Tuesday is best then. My boyfriend is home early Thursday morning so if all else fails, he can take it out of the package let it float in the tank. I am thinking maybe 5 of each stem of the three that I stated earlier?
If it was being sent 1 day, Wend would be better for me. If 2 day, Tues is fine. I am out on work calls from Mond-Wend, sometimes Thursday's, so I don't want them sitting outside in the cold.
Would you be able to ship on a different day upon request? If it is being shipped one day, I would need it to be shipped on Wend. :( If so, I am interested in purchasing a few stems of the Rotala Enie, Limnophila Mini and some Ludwigia Sengalensis.
If you have young kids in your family, your own children, nieces or nephews, I would buy a large canopy and some paints and let them paint you something. Or you could do some splash art using the same colors as the fish you have in your tank! Just get a painters canopy and put it on a large wall...
