I know that they are generally not the best option for reef tanks due to nitrate issues. Due to the money it would cost and an issue with fitting it under the stand I am stuck with it for now. To prevent nitrates how often should I clean it and how? any help would be appreciated ?

Thinking about starting a small reef with an extra 10 gallon tank I have, any suggestions on lighting for a ten gallon. I pretty much have all the equipment needed to start this as my second reef tank but don't have any experience with good lights for this sized tank

my 36 gallon tank is cycling and I turned on the light today to find probably over one hundred bristle worms all over the rock. I know they are generally considered harmless hitchhiker but will some eventually die off(starve). They're just really creepy looking to me lol

I have a 30" 2x65 watt Current Power compact fluorescent lighting fixture for my 36 gallon bowfront soon-to-be reef. It has 2 what appear to be white bulbs and then 2 blue actinic bulbs. What corals can I keep? and as a side not by tank is about 18-19 inches deep (if depth affects it?)

Does anyone know what the the polyps that extend from my toadstools do? what is their function, do they trap tiny particles for food or what?

Unfortunately it's close up because it's night, but could anyone tell me what this small reddish-brown thing is at the base of my toadstool leather, during the day it fans out. Is it harming the coral?
