Tested water today. After I noticed I lost a hermit. Ammonia and nitrite are 0ppm but my pH was a little low 7.8 and my nitrate are 10ppm (not sure if that's too high or not) what should I do? It's a 6 gal tank and I'm doing a 2 gal water change tomorrow. Thanks for any help.

I'm trying to bring my temp up for a 2gal. water change but the heater I'm using is only getting it up to 70 or so. I have a 6gal. tank. Is it because the heater isn't fully covered with water? It's not submersible and I'm making the water in a 5gal. bucket. Should I buy a cheap submersible one...

Tested water and my pH is around 7.4 and my KH is around 2.2. Should I raise it and if so what's the best way to go about doing that? I say "around" because I'm using test strips. I know not the best way to test but it's what I have. Thanks for any help.
