In my 5.5 I put in two rocks (small)that were in the tank a while back they had already been washed but they were in my cabinet for a while... And then a few days later my water turned murky and two fish died... Does anyone know what could've happened and how to treat it? Here's a pic of the tank:
I just got some new sand and I am going to wash it thoroughly but is there a way to get the silicates out of the sand first because I really don't want it to cause fungus and algae like my other tank

My dwarf hairgrass is browning but then I rubbed the brown off and it was pretty green under... My plants aren't doing great and I have some weird algae/fungus growth.. Will C02 really help? Because they are a little on the expensive side... Can I make my own?
