Help: my fish just got injured!

I think it's growing back. The new one is transparent (I assume tks normal?) and I hope soon it will have the cherry color like the rest of her fin. ?

Help: my fish just got injured!

Yes she's since become active again. She constantly begs for food and swims around her tank. I'm so happy Seachem's Stress Guard helped. Thanks for asking! ?

Help: my fish just got injured!

Since my baby betta injured her tail, she's been quite inactive. Her favorite activity is floating underneath the thermometer... Does anyone know what's going on with her? ?

Help: my fish just got injured!

The current is very mild. But she likes to play at the filter intake and output area (for some reason, she enjoys the disturbance). I am worried it may slow down her recovery - or am I thinking too much? Maybe I only use the air bubbles at night when the plants are also breathing? I don't...

Help: my fish just got injured!

That's true. Aquarium salt is going to kill my plants. The plants in that small tank are also babies... I will continue using Stress Coat. Should I also stop the filter and the air bubbles so she could rest more?

Help: my fish just got injured!

Thank you so much! I hope she will have her cute little compact fins and tail back... I'm so responsible for her handicapped look right now... ?

Help: my fish just got injured!

Thanks! I just did. Can I also use aquarium salt at the same time? I'm so worried about infection...

Help: my fish just got injured!

My baby betta jumped out of the tank when I was doing water change, and when I was trying to pick her up, I damaged her fin AND scales. While the damaged fin is visible, her scale damage is probably equally, if not worse, bad - I could see many shiny sparkles left on the table and floor...

Share your story - mourning the passing of my fish

My betta fish passed away last Tuesday night. Since then, I have been really sad and kept thinking about him. My friends think I am crazy because "It's not a dog or cat. It's just a fish!" but to me, he was much more than that. He was a very happy fish. Last October, he hurt his own fin for...

My betta fish can't swim down!

That's the thing. Since I put Eco-complete in her tank and planted it, I can't really follow her pooping activities anymore. Her poops are so small (bc she is a baby betta)!! Poor little girl. I've been feeding her both smashed cooked pea and soaked daphnia. I will try Epsom salt bath when I...

My betta fish can't swim down!

I also read that adding some salt may help, but do you know what the theory behind it is? I'm too scared to add things to the tank since my other betta passed away from me adding Maracyn II to help him with fin rot... My baby betta has been on diet since the day before... My poor fish...

My betta fish can't swim down!

She tries with a lot of efforts but floats (against her will) right up. So now she simply stays at the top... Is it swim bladder problem? I am worried it might be genetic because she seems to be otherwise healthy. Her belly does look a little bigger (not out of proportion kind) but I have...

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

Just fed my baby betta a smashed cooked pea first time ever! Hopefully she will swim to the bottom of the tank soon.

My betta fish can't swim down!

It's so strange. The baby betta I purchased from Petsmart a few weeks ago can't swim to the bottom of the tank. She always has to stay at the top. Can anyone tell me what the possible reasons are? 1) oxygen: I put an air stone in the tank. Plus the filter already creates some water agitation...

help - my betta is lying in the bottom of the tank

Just an update. My male betta is recovering. I observed him and determined that he wasn't constipated. His belly wasn't big and he pooped normally. I did 100% water change, added Seachem prime and stability, and added two drops of Betta Revive to his 4 gallon tank. For the following few days...

help - my betta is lying in the bottom of the tank

Thanks for the suggestion. What type of pea should I get? I have some frozen edamame at the freezer. Do you think I can feed it to him after cooking and smashing the pea? I would totally do that if I can keep my betta (I only have it for 6 months) for 3+ years like you! I don't know what type...

help - my betta is lying in the bottom of the tank

My betta stopped eating since last night. He doesn't move much, and pretty much lying in the bottom of the tank most of the time. I tested the water: 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate, and 0 nitrite. PH 6.5. Temperature 80 degrees (I raised it from 78 since this morning when). He is in a 4 gallon tank all...
