    How much food?

I don't think a 75 g is big enough for a Stars and Stripes puffer. They get quite large.

    Live rock question

I had some in about 4 months. It could take a year tho. If you don't look for it it will show up :)

    Live rock question

1st you want it real bad then you get sick if scraping it off your glass weekly. Coraline Algae forming naturally is a good sign for a reef tank. When it appears you know your doing something right.

75 gallon tank on 2nd floor.

700 lbs is nothing especially if it's against a wall which I'm sure it is. Remember the weight is spread out over several joists. The joists don't even know it's there.

    Need help with clown

I would try and get a smaller one if possible. A larger one would be ok too. I've heard you run into issues when they are the same size. I don't have any direct experience with this but this is what I've read when researching before getting my clowns.

    Puffer suggestions

I'm not sure there is one that's 100% reef safe. When doing research before getting mine ( Valantini) I read that smaller is better as far as nipping at corals and eating your clean up crew. Attacking your CUC is far more common with puffers. I love mine but the one tough thing is feeding...

    Attack of the plate coral

The plate won for sure. Frog spawn still retracted. I just hope it doesn't happen again. The other side about a foot away is a maxi mini. Who wins that one? Here's a pic. Sorry it's crappy. You can barley see a tentacle pulling the frogspawn towards it

    Bristle worms

That's good to know. I have a similar situation with bristle worms. Btw mr x I like your profile pic. Every time I see it I think; Abby.....someone. Abby Normal

    Attack of the plate coral

Had a long tentacle plate move a good foot to reach a frogspawn today. I knew they could move a little but thought I had plenty of space between them. Guess not

    Phosphate test kits

Ok so I got the kit today and I'm at .05. I actually thought it would be a tad higher. I have the slightest bit of hair algae. I do weekly water changes and I'm able to siphon out what I see on the sand. It shows up again at about day 6 and I siphon it right back out .

    My First SW Tank (Pictures!)

I can't see the gray things. Those damsels are gonna be tough to catch. If your gonna do it try before you add anymore rock. Oh and try not to pull your hair out :)

need some opinions on my thoughts.

That's my exact set up for a 55 gallon reef. I didn't want to mess with an overflow box so I went without a sump. I am doing the weekly water changes and everything is going well. To me a water change is easier then cleaning a canister every week. With more benefits to the tank as well.

    Phosphate test kits

Yeah luckily I can hand feed him. He's spoiled rotten. The clowns get the scrapes (because he's such a messy eater) so basically I end up feeding daily.

    Phosphate test kits

I've been feeding 3 times a week for the past few weeks. My problem now is my puffer isn't too happy with that. He has started to nip at a duncan and a leather. I knew he was gonna be a pig when I got him so I deserve it. I'm not sure If I have a phosphate problem or not. I'll know soon...

    Suggestions?

    Royal Grammas are cool

    Raising pH and KH

I would say get a different test kit before attempting to raise KH and PH. It's best to be sure where you stand and also you will want to test after dosing and be able to trust the results.
