    Getting coralline algae to start

Hello, I have a tank that is over a year old now. Are there any products you would suggest to get coralline algae to start growing? I don't have a local fish store or anyone else in my area that had saltwater tanks, so transfer isn't an option. Thanks for any help!

    Advice on cleaning a bowfront

Good afternoon everyone! I have a simple question, how do I clean the bowfront of my tank? It is getting very dirty and my magnetic scraper won't clean it. Any advice on what to try? I prefer not sticking my arm in to clean it once a week. Thanks in advance!

    Clown fish won't eat flakes

Acclimating fish that have been shipped.

i stand corrected, they are not shipped with CO2 but with Oxygen but they excrete ammonia and CO2. There will be build up of both CO2 and Ammonia, which should normally be a bad thing. But the CO2 will keep the water pH low meaning Ammonia, the undesirable and the conveniently more toxic...

Acclimating fish that have been shipped.

As much as I have read on it, yes that's why they use CO2. But I'm not scientist so I may be reading it wrong. Thanks for the advice, hope I don't kill my clowns today!

Acclimating fish that have been shipped.

I read online that if your fish were shipped to just get the bag temp to match the tank, open bag, drain water in bag in a sink, throw the fish in the tank. I'm obviously not a huge fan of this idea but the thing I read said that since they are packed with CO2, that once the bag is open that the...

Everything was looking good on Thursday, 3-31-22, and then yesterday 4-3-22, i noticed my snails not moving. I tested my ammonia and the level was...

Using frozen shrimp from walmart for food

Good day everyone. Has anyone tried to use frozen shrimp from Walmart to feed? I'm talking about the bags of frozen shrimp you would use to cook and eat, not the actual frozen mystic shrimp. I was thinking about using one and grinding it up in a blender and feeding them to the fish. I just want...

Keep power heads on when adding new sand?

I put in 50 LBS of live sand over 48 hrs ago and i still can't see the rocks inside because of how cloudy it is. I turned my power heads off for a day and it improved a bit but nothing like it should. My question is, should i keep running my power heads or leave them off? Also, I am using dry...

did some research and found that I like the powder tang, foxface and a butterfly. I'd probably add some smaller fish and those will do it for big fish Sent from my XT1585 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    Upgrading to a bigger tank

I'm upgrading to 180 from 55. My main concern is the nitrogen cycle. All I'm adding to the new tank is live sand. The live rock will come straight from old tank. Will that be enough to skip the nitrogen cycle since the rock is from an established tank? Sent from my XT1585 using Aquarium Advice...
