Thanks for the replies. I actually went to my LFS and purchased 2 bags of eco complete fine instead. It was only like $8 more per bag for eco complete. 2 bags should be ok for me since my tank is only 16 inches tall and i don't want too much depth.

Hi all, There is no online substrate calculator for Floramax as there is with eco complete. My fish tank is around 35 gallons: 36" (length) x 14" (width) x 16" (height). How many bags of floramax (midnight black) should I buy to get around 2 inches depth in the tank? It comes in 12lb bags...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I run my light for around 5 hours everyday. I guess i must have a very strong t8 lol. It is an Aqua One Fluoroglow reflector 36 inch (single). Since double t8 is 60 watts (30 watts each tube) total power and single t5ho is 39 watts ... should i stick with t5ho...
