Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

So the bubble/tumor that ruptured is now a flat scar type injury on his side. It's healed up. His fins still have red streaks but they're more brown, and his underbelly is still discolored. But he's basically still the exact same.

Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

Sure I'll grab one in a second. He moves a lot so it most likely won't be clear

Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

I did add salt to his water upon my return home. His bump looked bigger but not much. He's still been behaving normally. Yesterday when I was changing his tank water I took out a pagoda that was a decoration in his tank to wash it. The red paint was chipping away! So I tossed it. This morning, I...

Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

Yes it did look like a small clear bubble one night and then slightly smaller and even deflated the next. Parasite was my first guess. He's all by himself in a 5.5 thankfully he can't contaminate my other tanks. I'm out of town and will update next week when I'm home

Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

I gave him some pea this morning but I had to leave for a week long trip. He's in good hands but I won't be able to keep an eye on him :( I am worried, and will update in a week. Also, I noticed when I shined a light on him the grey area reflected greenish. Is he just changing colors like bettas...

Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

I haven't treated with anything yet. Also, his behavior is still great and he is very accepting of food. He hasn't had any sudden temperature drops, but I will try salt.

Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

No. He looks bloated in those pics because he had just eaten. The bump is a little bit behind his gill

Betta with sudden protrusion and color change

I have a male plakat Betta I purchased on June 26, 2014. He is in a 5.5 gallon tank all by himself. The temperature is usually around 78. He swims, eats, and flares at his reflection normally. Less than a week into having him I noticed his fins were starting to turn red and his white body was...

Oh boy. Well I've only found 2, and my sister wants them for her 45 gallon community tank. Hopefully I don't find any more!

Tiny lone snail found in tank- what kind?

Yes after googling that's what I thought, too. I also found a second one last night. Anything in particular I should know about these snails?

Tiny lone snail found in tank- what kind?

Tonight I cleaned my 20 gallon community tank. I have 2 amazon swords that are doing wonderfully and have been for the past 3-4 weeks, and I moved them to clean the tank but they have since been repositioned into the gravel. Also, I added a java fern that has been quarantined for a few weeks...

    Feeding Juvenile FBNs

Luckily I have seen one eat frozen blood worms. I haven't seen my other FBN eat, but I've had him for numerous weeks so I assume he has been eating in secret

    Feeding Juvenile FBNs

I have recently acquired two fire belly newts that are quite young and small. They have rejected bloodworms both inside and outside of their 10 gallon tank, even if I use tweezers to wiggle it around in front of their faces. They haven't eaten in at least 5 days. They stay on the leaves of a...

    Surprise snail!

Thank you all so much! I can't find him today, but he or she has certainly moved between last night and today. Is that normal? I read they're more active at night

    Surprise snail!

I purchased lucky bamboo from the pet store and didn't notice that this little guy tagged along. Does anyone know what he is? Also it looks like he has an injury on his shell, any advice on how to help him out? Never had a snail before. Thanks! He's in a tall 20 with 4 female Platy, 3 female...
