    Pond filtef suggestion

A friend of mine asked me to install a filter for his pond. Its a triangular pond 7' x 7' x 7' with a depth of 2'. I followed some formula to get the volume of the pond and it came out to 43G which is way off I think. I need some suggestions on an easy to maintain filter good for that pond...

    diy canister filter question

I'm using a 420gph pump. I have enough parts to build one but the input hose will 3/4" while the output is passing through a 1/2" connecting piece. Is there an overflow problem with this or must I make the same diameter or both input and output?

    CO2 amount for ~80G

Probably a few Siamese algae eaters and some shrimps to keep dead leaves/algae in check.

I have a 5lb tank on an 80G. Using it to grow all kinds of plants I can get my hands on.

    CO2 amount for ~80G

I'm using a powerhead for diffusion. I'm thinking of getting canister filter with sponge filter. I'd prefer t5 since I thought it would be cheaper than LED but guess not. Something reasonably priced. Currently I'm using some cheap heat lamps but the light distribution is uneven and I get algae...

    Shrimp Go For Walk?

Bamboo shrimps tend to hide within the driftwood if there is large enough space

    Driftwood

Smell isn't a problem. I have used some stinky driftwood in my tank for over two years and everything's fine. You should soak the bleached piece in a bucket of water for a few days then boil it again just to be safe.

    80G filter setup question

I'm setting up a 80G. Going to make some DIY filters. How many GPH should I use for the filter? Is a large DIY multi-sponge filter with high output air pump enough for the tank or do I need to provide more filtration? The tank is a plant nursery with some algae eaters so very low bioload.

    Questions regarding medications

So far so good. None of them seems to be getting weaker.

    Questions regarding medications

I'm already doing most of what is said here regularly. However, I found mixed results from people who use salt for a cories tank. Also I'd like to have a strong medication on hand since my fungus infected cories usually don't last more than two days for improved tank condition to make any...

    Questions regarding medications

I just thought with continuous doses and no water changes might be too much stress for them. Then I found out that those aren't antibiotics. Sadly the infected cory died within hours after I spot the fungus. Gunna keep dosing Melafix and Pimafix as a preventative for the remaining ones. What...

    Questions regarding medications

Tank is cycled. Water condition is good. One of my panda cories developed fungus on his fin. I tried treating him by wiping the fungus off with Qtip and light salt baths and he didn't make it. Few days later, another one showed fungus so I'm not risking the previous method again and treating...

    Driftwood question

The barks look like they will fall off sooner or later so I just peeled it all off and let it dry for a few days. And I'm supposed to soak the wood in water for a week or two for it to not be buoyant, according to sources.

    Driftwood question

I got a tree with some very nice branches to use as driftwood. Do I need to let it dry out after I chop it from the tree or can I use it right away?

I'm keeping red ludwigia and scarlet temple in my 24" 20G tank. Can someone can recommend me a high light LED strip?

    Bamboo shrimp feeding

My tank is heavily planted. And I have the shrimp pellets you're talking about for my cories. One of my cories just recovered from fungal infection so I wouldn't risk leaving bits of food to flow in the water at the moment.

    Bamboo shrimp feeding

I have a pre filter sponge covering the filter intake so it's pretty much the same as a sponge filter. But I'll give him some times see how he acts. Just did some replanting today so he might not be familiar with the tank layout yet. In the meantime, I'll start on green water if that doesn't work.

    Bamboo shrimp feeding

My tank is fairly new and I got 2 bamboo shrimp, which I shouldn't have. One seems to been filter feeding fine the whole day, but the other one is constanly foraging. I tried feeding fined algae water directly but most just go on the substrate and foul the water. Everytime I did that, next...

White cotton-looking spots on Panda cory

I should add that the sick cory is really weak as in he hardly moves at all, weak breathing. Sometimes I couldn't tell if he's alive or not.

White cotton-looking spots on Panda cory

Apparently my last test kit didn't work properly. Then I checked, they're all expired.Went to get a master test kit and I got: 7.0 pH 0.25 ammonia 0 nitrite 10~20 nitrate Guess my tank parameters are ok. Never had experience with a sick fish aside from ich before. How should I go about...

White cotton-looking spots on Panda cory

My tank is 20G planted. The current tank water itself is one month old. I forgot to mention that the filter pad is older than that since I used it when I kept pleco/apple snails another month prior til I found out they ate portions of my plants.

White cotton-looking spots on Panda cory

Yes it does include sludge destroying bacteria. Is that a good thing or bad thing? Currently treating my fish with antifungal, how should I feed him during the treatment? How high should I keep the temperature?

White cotton-looking spots on Panda cory

I have a 2+ years old tank in my office and I used some of that water with bacteria doses to cycle these 2 tanks for two weeks before adding the cories.

White cotton-looking spots on Panda cory

~7.0 pH, 75 F temp 0 for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate Had the tank for about a month, no fish dead/missing Water changes weekly 20%. Just did it today. Have 8 panda cories but only one is sick. The other tank is almost 2 weeks old. Plants have been in there since the beginning. Water perimeters...
