This may be just an issue I'm having, but I'm my tanks it appears that wisteria is a super magnet for algae. Has anybody else noticed this? I may just stop using it

Assassins will not eliminate all the pond snails as they reproduce to fast. They will keep the population under control though. Some loaches also eat snails

Your set up looks good as long as the filter can still run properly

Blue velvet and yellow or orange (can't tell from that pic) are both neocaridina

The larger shells may be too large. When I had hermits, they did very gradual shell size changes.

Not just shrimp. Also has pygmy gouramis, neon tetras, rummy nose tetras, and ottos.

I use Fluval Stratum or Seachem's Flourite substrate but I also do live plants which is what those substrates are for; and shrimp. With those, I don't recommend an under gravel filter.
