    New to tanks

I would do a crab over a scorpion as the scorpion won't do good with the saltwater or the depth of the water. I've had them drown in shallow water dishes so I switched to using a wet sponge Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Put a face to the screen name - Post your selfie!

Gotta love family. Think about it they took you from a place people pay thousands of dollars to get away from this weather for a week you could be drinking tequila by the ocean right now. At least that's what I'd be doing, but for now I'll just sit in my dark house because a storm ripped my...

would have done one with my tank in the back ground but I'm having a gha problem and I'm soaking my boa in the tub. Totally ripped the shower curtain rod off the wall seconds after that picture. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Gha outbreak again

Will it die off or will the growth just slow down once I get my water back in check. Would it support a lawnmower Blenny or would I have to buy algae sheets Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Gha outbreak again

So I've seen some people growing algae on a screen in there refugium. Will this also help it from growing in my tank or will it all die off when I get my ro/di water back. I guess I don't really understand what people grow it in the refugium for. Can I use it like I would macro algae Or is it...

    Confused with live rock

You just match it to the new water. The water you take out won't change the salinity in your tank. If your changing evaporated water you just add fresh water because the salt doesn't evaporate. Thank god to because if it did every time it rained there would be salt everywhere Sent from my...

    Gha outbreak again

Do I have to change the membrane on my ro/di system or could I get away with just doing the sediment, carbon, and resin? Usually I do all of them but I need a couple other things that would put me over my budget Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Confused with live rock

Just my personal preference, I would rather get a nice chunk of coralline covered live rock to seed the tank then rely on a couple snails and hermits to seed a whole tank. + I like the majority of hitchhikers I've had come in on live rock. Vermetid snails and hydroids are the worst thing I've...

    Confused with live rock

If you want coralline algae on the rock you'll have to seed it with live rock. There's plenty of benefits to adding a little live rock to the dry rock. Often live rock has pods and all sorts of little creatures in it and coralline. That's what makes it live rock. Not just going threw a nitrogen...

    Adding sand

Yeah the only way I see it working is if you add more sand then the substrate that's already in there. Or take the old substrate out. Some will still make its way to the top so look for a sand that complements your old substrate. I've read threads where people are trying to put sand over colored...
