Saw that you are in Naples. Check out Eco Reef corals. Tell Donna and Chet that Shaw says hi. Their store is very nice.

What RODI unit should I get?

Yup, works fine. They want you to read accurate TDS so that you'll buy more filters. I used the pitcher until I got a DI stage.

    Upgrading to a Larger Aquarium

Exactly, all the "live" this and "cycle" that... The quesion is, do you have enough bacteria to eat the fsh waste? Are you losing some with the sand being lost/washed? Yes. Most likely it will not affect the levels all that much when you are increasing water volume by four. "Live sand"...

What RODI unit should I get?

For every one gallon of filtered water you get, 3 to 5 gallons of water will pass out of the filters waste tube. That water is filtered through the first few stages and then moves through the RO membrane. I use it for my FW tank, others fill their washing machines, or water the lawn with it. It...

    Upgrading to a Larger Aquarium

The bacteria that break down ammonia to nitrate and nitrite are already present in your rock. As long as they are not kept without a food source for too long they will thrive.

    Upgrading to a Larger Aquarium

you will want new sand. Keep a good scoop of the old sand. Then you can wash it and reuse. Otherwise once you move, move everything to the new tank. You are going to need 200+ gallons of salt water. So I would fill the 240 with RO and add salt, and let it mix overnight while the fish live in...

What RODI unit should I get?

Any RODI will make water at low psi, but with high waste. Are you US? A booster pump will save a lot of water if you have low pressure

Rock Confusion Pukani, Reef Saver Eco, and Florida Rock From BRS or ReefCleaners

The putty barely holds frags. I would go with the rods. However, unless you are hanging some pieces up to create a swim through, I wouldn't bother. I might also flip one of th rocks over so that the narrow end is on the bottom.

What is clouding it? Sand? How old is the tank? I use a product called bioclear that works great for particulates.

    Algae Ruled Reef Tank

That doesn't look bad at all. Lawnmower blennie. I like to pick a spot like a return and let the algae grow, that will reduce it in the other areas. Keep pulling it out. You'll get there.

    Algae Ruled Reef Tank

Muriatc acid bath, rinse, bleach bath, rinse, rinse, rinse. Live rock will become encrusted with phosphates especially if the previous owner was using tap water. If you do have dino, no point in trying the soft way. Nuke it.

    my unexpected 125g build

Bah. Everything in forida is on concrete slab. Spill salt water, and touch the tank. Zap. I think I am used to being the ground.

    my unexpected 125g build

I Found a craftsman jigsaw in the dumpster at my storage area (yes I do check). It is all chrome and steel so I know it is old. Works just fine.

Depends on the coral. My trumpets turn out and put out tentacles. Zoas, palys and other polyps close up. Mushrooms shrink to almost nothing.
