SORRY ONE MORE - when I went back into the room just now, my old clown loach had come out of his cave to rest out front. The 5 tiger barbs were clustered together behind him just staring like "OMG - what is THAT??? " - so I had to get a picture. Sadly the timer on the lights just...

And two more... Here is a close up of the new clown loach - he is just over an inch long. And finally - here is all 5 barbs grouped together - for the most part. That one in the upper left of the picture (up above the log) has a tendency to wander away from the group and explore on his own.

This is a (slightly blurry- sorry) pic of our Cory Cat giving the new tiger barbs a tour. Its funny, it looks like he's saying, "Hey guys, follow me- let me show you around the place!" This is some of the new barbs and our new clown loach. As you can see, the loach is very similar in color...

The first thing I will do is post my favorite pic of my dearly departed Angel (which is the reason I even started this thread). Her name was Braveheartess. When she was a baby, we thought she was a male and she was so aggressive and not afraid of anything, so we named "him" Braveheart. But...

No we are going to take a break from Angels. We got tiger barbs today and they don't play nice with Angels. We've only had the tiger barbs a few hours and we are already enjoying them GREATLY. The tank has gone from being a quiet Zen Sanctuary to a Circus. Our old Cory Cat is fascinated...

Hi again everyone! Thank you so much for the outpouring of support - it really meant alot! :) To answer this - yes thats always our first automatic response to fin rot - melafix, pimafix, water changes, heat. And many other times it has worked like a charm but unfortunately this time it...

Hi - I joined this forum in 2005 when I first got my aquarium but haven't posted in years (since the tank sort of went on "auto-pilot" - didn't have too many problems all these years). Sadly today I had to euthanize my beautiful angelfish. She was almost 6 years old - I got her when she was...

Unexpected Angelfish Eggs - First Time - Clueless!!!

Yep my inhabitant list is up to date. Actually I do have breeder boxes and baby food left over from when my platys were getting busy. I have 4 offspring as a reward for my diligence with them. Unfortunately both their mom and dad have passed away recently, but I still have the 4 babies. They...

Unexpected Angelfish Eggs - First Time - Clueless!!!

Long LONG time- no post! But here I am back again with a totally new problem that has thrown me for a loop! I have a silver angelfish with stripes that I thought was a Male. And a gold angelfish that I thought was a Female. They always "pick" at each other but also spend a lot of time...

    Local Fish Stores

Well I see this thread hasn't had any action in a while but I'll throw in my 2 cents on a couple of the Montgomery County places listed... 1) Congressional Aquarium - no NO NO!!!! Bad! Never ever support this store with your hard earned money. The place was bad, they moved to a bigger...
