I have had a 10 gal for about 10 days now. First tank I have had in 10 years but love it. If I do well with this one then I want a bigger one soon.

I have a pH test kit...what else to I need to keep a check on???????

Ammonia should be next on the list, then maybe nitrites.

Yea, ammonia is important, so is nitrate. Their are good kits that come with all of them included.

Unless you have saltwater in the 10 gallon, you should have to worry about Nitrate that much. However, Nitrite you will.
