Good luck with the build, might I suggest a bigger HOB filter though? the amount of LR rubble you'll get in there wont make much of a difference. Instead if you are set on using that particular filter I would run some type of chemical filtration maybe some GFO or Chemi pure elite.

I'd say it looks good. But you wont know till you get some rocks in there. I have an extra DIY ATO if you want it. I use a float tied to a relay and then either an aqualifter or air pump for a nominal charge =)

I have a few ideas. At the moment the rock is soaking in water to clean it up abit. It was fairly crusty.

same fixture I have on my 35gal (just shorter) and yah leaves a nice blue glow on the outside of the house...cant wait for the cops to show up asking about a grow op I got going lol

Funny you mention that, I bought a light off of craigslist a 250W halide set up with reflectors for real cheap. After leaving the guys house i was stopped by the police they questioned why i had been at the house and what i had bought (they saw me paying him outside and leave with a box) I showed them. They then wanted to know what it was for!! it was a fun time explaining to them my fish tanks lol

Yeah that light...im happy i got the 24" It fits perfectly on a standard 10 gal.

more than once I have had the cops show up because of my neighbours calling my house in as a drug growing op because of the blue and white lights coming from my house.

Cops come in see its a fish tank and leave, after the 3rd or 4th time they come in though they start to get unimpressed with the calls (guess its there policy to check it out) fun times :d
