Discus

This is great looking tank.
I'm reading a lot about discus, what is the pH on your tank?
I read that they like an acidic pH, just trying to learn because your tank looks really nice.
Thanks and thumbs up

This is an awesome looking tank! Someday I would like to have a SA planted community tank with a few discus, blue rams, and dwarf cichlids. Nice plants and is pressurized CO2 difficult to set up? I have a 40G planted community and I'm not sure if I should go with pressurized or just CO2 tabs.

Thanks everyone :D

Thanks! The pH is actually at 7. These discus were hatched and raised locally in a pH of 7, so that's what I keep them at and they seem to be doing just great. Wild discus need the much lower acidic water. I'd say the most important thing is to match the pH that they've grown up in.

Thanks! I've always thought the CO2 would be difficult to set up, but I bought the RedSea CO2 Pro system and it came with easy to follow instructions. For a 40gal, I'd go with the RedSea Turbo CO2 Bio System. I've got on on my 55 and it works great.

just an update- the hygro has lost quite a bit of the lower leaves, I assume from the low lighting, but the discus are starting to really get their color and patterns in now!
