26 gallon bowfront stocking question

im thinking of getting a pearl lace gourami I heard they can be shy at times when kept with aggressive fish what other types of fish would go well with the gourami and should I get a pair?

anything around the same size thast peaceful according to live aquaria, and if you get a pair you can breed them but a few things must be done first before they will start

yea I probably dont want to breed them does anybody have stocking suggestions I was thinking maybe around 6 or 7 rummy nose tetras and other stuff
