I personally li,e your second arrangement. I am huge fan of negative space, since it is pleasing to the eye if you weight the other side of the tank with s taller plant. Plus, PLENTY of swimming room to watch your shoaling fish if you get any!

I got some more plants in there and I'm installing my 55w CP and making a co2 reactor right now so I'll have some pics up later tonight

Ok here's a picture

what's the grass plant?

It looks like mondo grass.

I have some in my 26. Been in there since we started the tank. 1 of the 4 started looking a little frail so we pulled it. But despite what everyone said they seem to be doing quite alright.

Btw, the tank looks amazing!

mondo grass isnt fully aquatic.

Yeah, I know. But for some reason it hasn't died yet. Haha didn't know it wasn't fully aquatic until after we got it. But as long as it isn't in any shade and gets good lighting it seems to do alright.

So here's the tank the plants are starting to pick up a little some are pearling a little I tied the nana up to some of the dw I'm liking the scape I got to give it a week or to because rent is coming up then I'll add fish until then I'll have to wait on the fish

Well unfortunately for me it looks like I got some green dust algae and black hair algae if u look at the second pic u can see the hair algae on the java fern and the sword with I think it's green dust on the back glass because thats the only place it seems to be growing is the glass I guess I need to get a few ammo shrimp to take out the hair algae

Any comments on the algae any way to prevent it or stop it It seemed to spring up quickly

Sorry if I missed it, I just skimmed over the thread, but what are you dosing and how much? usually, hair algae is either too much light (not in this case), or going overboard on ferts.

I'm doing a 10ml dose a day of k2s04, kn03, kh2p04, and csm+b I got the following measurements in a gallon container
K2s04-64gram
Kn03-71gram
Kh2p04-6gram
Csm+b-87gram
Did it off a calculator found in here

oh, PPS Pro? That's right, I remember you asking about that. What's your nitrate reading with the dosing? You might cut your CSM+B down, as well as your PO4. If the nitrate is higher than 20ppm, you can cut that down as well. If it's less than 10ppm, raise the dosing on the KNO3 a little.
