Hey all,
I have a cycled, planted 36gal bow ready for fish.. And I think I've decided on something similar to the following stock:
13-15 female bettas (PetCo)
6-8 cory catfish
1 BN pleco
4 assassin snails (Should be here tomorrow, tank has ramshorn infestation)
RCS (Lots of plants for hiding)
Pair of rams (German Blue or Bolivian)

Anything I should know before I get the bettas?? Hoping tomorrow or Tuesday..

Thanks all.

Get less bettas. Females are less aggressive than males but will still fight and kill each other. I would do no more than 6 or 7. And plant the heck out of that tank (It sounds like you already have)

Also not sure about mixing rams and female bettas. They're similar enough and aggressive enough that it could end badly.

I thought that more bettas was better, as to spread out any aggression.
The tank has a lot of plants, but they're still quite small. I only planted it a week ago.

I suppose that's true. I've always heard the opposite- get less and then keep broken sight lines. But if it works for african cichlids it might work for bettas. My buddy had a 15 gallon sorority with a whole bunch and one female was so awful that she basically was the death of all the rest.

I would also recommend only 6 to 7 females bettas. They all need enough room to have territories. Just be prepared if things go south suddenly.

I've got some females in my community tank, and they seem to do fine with my Bolivian Rams.

I typically stock females one for each three gallons...but you also need to consider what "territory" the other tank mates will need as well.
