Oh, that's probably a 50 tall then. Not really going to do anything for you other than add 10 extra gallons to the total system volume... at least, IMO

I mean, wouldn't it give me more flexibily with different corals light needs or something? I think I will just keep my 40g just to keep things simple lol. Nice tank BTW :key:

Updates!

I bought my first RO/DI unit yesterday! I got the 75 GPD RO/DI 4 Stage Economy System from BRS since the 5 stage plus was out of stock. Oh well, I figure I don't need the 5th stage and I got a float valve, faucet kit, etc. for less combined anyway.

I also bought the stuff for my return(locline)

And I painted the back of the tank with 2 layers(I started with krylon plastic application spray paint, then switched to actual glass spray paint for second layer), but i tried touching up a spot and it all wiped away.... Oh well I'll probably just scrape it all off and use the right kind of paint from the start lol.

I'm going to get all my plumbing soon, I think I have a good list of what I need:
From Overflow(In order) - 1 1/2" Elbow, Union, Ball Valve, PVC down, then 45 degree leading to sump

Return Line(In order) - 1/2" Coupler, PVC/ 45 degree out of stand, Check Valve(?) or ball valve first I don't know, then union, elbow into bulkhead.

I can just use nipples to put the unions, ball valves, and elbows together right?

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm just going to buy a 36 LED kit from rapidled.com. Or 24 with some extra LEDs added on. Prices have gone down quite a bit.

So that's where I'm at right now.

Thanks man! It's coming together, very slowly, but surely. Yeah, it seems like one of the best starter tanks, and lower costing.

I got it for $117 with the group buy. Only thing i'd like to get down the road is a TDS meter. I'm not too worried about it right now.

I got my RO/DI unit today! It's so big! I got some pics, i'll probably post them sometime tomorrow.

I also have a question. How does one remove the 1/4" line from the murlock insert without breaking something?

All i have to do now to get this thing running is get plumbing, finish stand, put together sump, and get some rock!

Thanks for the advice, it worked, i'm dumb lol.

In other news, I got the necessary plumbing from Lowes the other day.
I also ordered the BRS booster pump kit/ 30lb assorted BRS rock, which is coming in on Thursday!

This evening has been a pretty productive one for me, I got all the baffles siliconed into the sump, and I drilled the hole for my 1/2" loc-line return!

And on Tuesday of last week I jumped the gun and bought a fully set up 20 gallon fish/ reef tank off craigslist for super cheap!!

....That thing has sucked up so much of my time lol :p
