Im thinking about adding some dw to my tank, my lfs just got some really nice pieces in. Do you guys think that dw would look good in my tank?
Im having a hard time because i cant really find a spot where it would look good.
I dont have the dw yet, but i dont know of it would look right in my tank.
This is kind of a dumb question, but i cant figure out if it would look out of place or not.

Can you hook us up with a pic?

I picked up this dw.

I have it in the dishwaher currently, and after that im going to put it in a bucket with prime water.
Im doing this just incase there is soap on it from the dishwasher
I can make a stump look with these pieces.

Yes that bleach is fine, just use the correct amount of Prime after recharging it. On a side note is that a Ewok on the ground?

I changed the dw around a bit. I added some sand to the back corner, and im happier with it now.

I like it, looks especially cool with the diatoms on the rocks as it looks more natural.

I changed stuff up a bit.
I had to buy a top for the tank.
One fish jumped out and died, and another jumped out but i got to him in time.
The top has really cut evaportion down.

I also grabbed some spirulina, and a 500 ml bottle of prime.

So im thinking about getting some marineland doible brights, and a new filter.
My emporer 400 is driving me nuts!
Its so loud.
Im thinking about trying my ankther canister.
I want something that will last me a long time.
I thinking an ehiem 2215, or 2217. Or a fluval 406.
If i dont do a canister i was thinking about getting an aquaclear110.
What do u guys think?

That picture I posted was filtered by two Fluval 405's, they're inexpensive, easy to maintain, and best of they are silent and work very well. With regards to others I've used nothing besides Fluval when it comes to canisters.

If your going to use a HOB then you can't go wrong with a Aquaclear 110.

I just don't like my tanks sitting so far away from walls. The second reason I prefer canisters is the media layout and Bio capacity is much higher than a comparable HOB.

Im running my aquaclear 50 along side whatever new filter i plan on getting.
I read somewhere that theres someone on ebay that sells 405's cheap, so thats probably what i will do.

I just talked to the people at hagen customer service and apparently its still under warranty and i can get the part shipped.
It looks like im going to go with the 305 and the aquaclear 50.
Down the road i might change the 50 out for a 110.

I forgot about the 305 you were having issues with, using that plus a AC 50 is WAY more than enough filtration. Save your pennies for tank #2!

Sounds good.

I like to over filter. Right now im at about 600 gph.
Now i will be able to get the double brights sooner.
