40gallon Breeder For Critters Only?

So I just picked up a 40 gallon breeder off craigslist. I didn't ask many questions about it because it was brand new. I got home and it says do not fill with water. I'd like to use this for a sump so it would only be 1/2 full. Is it marked critter only because of the silicon used or something? This will be my first epic craigslist fail if I can't use it for the sump

I've heard the the glass is too thin or not the right kind of glass to withstand the pressure of water. But honestly, I have no idea if that is true or not. Is it a Zilla brand? If so, you could google their 800 number and ask.

I hope you didn't pay too much for it. Petco is having their $1/g sale right now, so 40b's are $40.

I would not use it. The glass will not be able to withstand the pressure of the water, probably even at half filled. You tell me, is it worth the risk?

So I just got super lucky and just sold the tank and accessories for the same price I bought it all for about a month ago. The guy didn't even blink at the $60. So not an epic fail as I first thought. Anyway... no more critter tanks for me
