I just want to say how thankful I am to have found a forum for and about fishies. I brought home a rescue betta from a function. They were going to flush the fishies. My Dashel passed a few days ago, but he had a very happy life. I broke his tank down yesterday. It was just a 5 gallon with heat and filter. I cried while cleaning it.
My brother in law saw my love for fish, so he recommended a 50 gallon or 75 gallon. I have Multiple Sclerosis, so my balance is off, and Icannot stand on stool to reach down to clean tank, so after much thought I decided the fish tank would be perfect on my fireplace ledge. When I had my house inspected for tornado damage, I was told I have a fireplace inside, but nothing to let fire escape. I have place for a 50 or 75 gallon tank. Which is easier to care for 50 0r 75?
I would like a blood parrot, but what other fishies can live with him? My other question is how do I decide what fish I take in to safe room?
Thanks,
Jennie
