So,

I picked up 500lbs of live rock today.

Completely cleaned out a lfs that was going out of business.

so, I've got the rock in big Rubbermaid bins with salt water and heaters.

I have read that some people scrub it down before putting it in the display tank.

My tank currently has no fish in it and has not been cycled yet.

Any thoughts on what I should do next?

Also,

In regards to placement of rock inside the tank. Is there a good or bad way to do it?

My tank is L-shaped ,

Front section- 8ft by 42"
Side section - 7ft by 36"

Depth 30"

Thanks in advance for your advice !!

Awesome setup!!!!!

Get that Rock in. Fill with water and start cycle.

If you are not cycled- just throw it in! Rock arrangement is preference- but caves are a must

You're gonna need more rock with that tank. lol
you could do 3 really big islands of rock.

thought I would start off with that amount and see how it looks.

I am hoping to do alot of colorful corals.
