50gal Community Tank Suggestions?

Im going to get a 50 gal aquarium next week. This is my idea:



Fish
5 Siamese Algae Eater
5 Yo-yo Loach
10 Neon Tetras
10 Guppies

Invertabrates
15 Bee Shrimp
10 Red Cherry Shrimp
10 Freshwater Clams


Plants
Amazon Sword Plant
Anacharis
Dwarf Baby Tears
Dwarf Hair Grass
Moss



Substrate
Black Sand


I want to make one of those DIY Backgrounds made of GS and Silicone and incorporate a moss wall into the background.

I also want to get a "centerpiece" fish. Something rather large. Maybe a couple discus?


Any suggestions would be helpful

Sounds solid. The plants growth and success depends on your lighting...discus I would not reccomend in that size tank. A shoal of five-six need a bigger tank with not as many fish in it IMO...you could try badis badis or a betta, any regular-sized gourami will work too.

Just a thought, maybe reconsider the guppies? If you have that many, it would be nicer (at least to me) if you had schooling fish. From my experience, they don't really school. Just a thought, of course. You could do a pair of rams or some other docile cichlid.
