55 gallon jd and oacar ?

Hi I am a newbie I have a 55 gallon temporary tank for a tiger Oscar and jack Dempsey. What would you keep the temperature at and what ph level right now it's reading 7.3 ph and my new o isn't looking good could he just have been sick when I bought him Friday? Just did a water change and added 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt

I think the ph is okay. You just want it to stay the same, not change it unless you have to. If you want to use salt in the tank you'll need more. It's good to do a little at a time if that's your plan, dissolved in tank water first. Are they juvies? What do you mean he doesn't look good? Did you just get him? Oscars sulk, don't like change =) Could be he needs time to get used to his new surroundings. Here's a couple pics when I first got my O and him now =)

Yes just got the Oscar 3 days ago he's just staying in one spot and his color is lighter from when I got him

that's probably all it is, he'll come around in a while. I think it might be a red oscar, very cute =)
