55 watt cfl with spotlight question

I was just curious about the cost of those bigger bulbs, at some point it just becomes more cost efficient to buy a premade compact fluorescent or t5ho fixture. It's a toss up for me, but then again I don't make much time for DIYing.

As far as BBA goes, I had a heck of a time with it when running DIY co2.

I also had it completely cover the driftwood in one of my tanks shortly after setting it up with mineralized topsoil and oil-dri, no co2 and just a single t5ho light over 2ft above the substrate.

Yeah the only reason I don't go for a t5 fixture is the higher initial cost. So for now I have cfls and it's good to see what you can do while use items not meant for the craft.
