My hubby and I have been talking about upgrading our shrimp tank (10g) to a 33long.

Then he decided today that he wants to make a 6 foot long x 12 inch tall x 12 inch deep rimless.

He said he can put in 2 glass bracers along the top to help keep it from bowing out.

My question is, has anyone heard of issues with long, rimless tanks?

I see them frequently used by the Salty members of our local club, they are used for sps displays and frag set ups. All the ones I've seen are made from 1/2" or greater glass without center bracing, and most are 12-15" in height and 18-24" in depth. So I'm sure with glass bracing he could use a smaller diameter glass without issues.
