I was just wondering if it would be ok if I were to add a blue hippo to my tank which is 80g. I know that they are a great fish to have, and that I am hoping to get one soon.

Thanks

Is this the same tank that is having the ich infestation right now? If so, the answer is obvisously "no". Hippo tangs are amoung a small group of fish that are considered "ich magnets" in this hobby. They are great fish, but require a lot of swimming space to remain happy and stress-free. I noticed in your other thread you said you had a 50gal tank, this thread refers to an 80gal. Just making sure we are not refering to the same tank. Anyways...a 50 or 80 is still a bit cramped for a hippo. I would skip it.

Please listen to Lando. Like most other tangs that grow to 8" or more, a 6' long tank should be the minimum.
