Am new to the saltwater hobby. I am only keeping soft corals or corals with lower light/flow needs in my tank. Do you add reef supplements to you water? Saw there are multi liquid supplements as well as calcium, etc. Are any additives necessary for proper soft coral care?

I have never had to add reef supplements to my tank in 14 yrs. PWC`s have all the supplementation you need. Some salt mixes have been known to be low in calcium content so you`ll need to do some water tests to be sure.

I also dont add any supplments to my tank and all is well. The salt mix contains all the elements that your coral will need. :) I do dose some for my alkalinity every few days but thats cause my coral load is a bit high so it sucks up that before i can replace it with the water change. :)

testing is the key though, that will tel you everything you need to know.
