So I was going to start my planted tank and I was wondering how would I add Dolomite and muraite of potash under the substrate. I was thinking just spreading it along the bottom and still keeping the glass visible. Then layering sand on top. Ideas?

I have seen many tanks with soil as a substrate with great results. may be a little messy at first though

It's fairly common, check out the Walstad method(this isn't the only way to do it.) Some people hate it, others love it.

That sounds good to me... layer the dolomite and potash on the bottom, then the dirt... clay is another good thing you can add before the dirt as well.

Yeah they are a bit messy at first.

Okay I'll check that out!

Yeah I was going to mix the soil with aforementioned clay to make a runny mud and add that on top, then sand above that.
