I just got some plants from hobby lobby 50% off... I was debating doing a planted tank but I think I decided against it. These plants were so affordable and much easier... Some where 5.00 and some were 4.00. ( at the 50%off ) I'm pretty sure they have the sale often. I'm excited to spice up my tank for such a low price :) I'm postin pics of the plants that I got... All where 50% off except for the ball plants they were 30% off

Anyways... I thought I'd share! I will update pics of them once they are in the tank I anyone would like for me to!

That's a great idea, and a good steal at the store. I would love to see pictures once it's all done! I bet it'll look great!

What size tank is it? Them are some big plants.

It's a 55 gallon tank. I need some tall and full plants

I'd like to see pics once you get them in Flossie, I'm having a hard time deciding between the two myself :)

That's a great idea! How do you anchor plants like that when they don't have the typical plastic bottom like the ones made for aquariums?

You can use aquarium-safe silicone to "glue" rocks to the plants.

I thought you'd say that! I tried it once, and made a huge mess and couldn't get it to work! I also tried to fix up an aquarium once...wow...what a mess.

I bend them and bury them under the substrate and try and place a rock or something there.

Ok so I'm still trying to scape the first tank to my liking... It is not finished yet!

It still needs a lot of work... Maybe one more tall plant in the back and maybe some rocks and DW.... Not sure what it will look like when finished... Here are closer shots of the actual plants.

The little planted balls floated up to the top and I kinda liked it... So they may stay that way. One of the plants dis have some paint coming of when I was Rinsing them so be careful if u buy some. I did not use that one.

Here's my cichlids tank. The 2 big plants were from hobby lobby.

LOVE THIS TANK

Your tank looks really good Flossie! I'm thinking of going along that line that way you don't have to worry about the right lighting, ferts and everything else. Awesome job!!

You picked some really great plants for a tank, they definitely look like something you'd find in a lake or river.

Thank u! I think they are pretty cool! I can wait to finish the "ugly" tank! Lol that's like my only tank that I'm not happy with!

If you don't mind a question.....did you just look in the silk flower section of hobby lobby for those?
