If it bothers you or causes the plants to uproot then yes. You'll have enough oxygen anyway from the plants lol

I keep mine on in my planted goldfish tank. The needs of my fish always trump the needs or benefit of the plants. So the goldfish are more important to me than the plants. My plants still do VERY well.
