What is a good replacement interval be for Airstones.

Hi Jerry:

I have really hard water here, so I typically swap mine out about every two months or so when the performance falls because of mineralization. Oddly enough, those cheap "Discard-A-Stones" (the ones that come in a pack of six for like two dollars) seem to last longer than the higher end ones. Go figure.
