Im getting what looks to be hair algae in my pant leaves and dense dark green Alla on my driftwood.
My light is see for 6 hours a day and the plant growth is great.
Im doing diy co2 but stopped excel since I think it was killing my val plants.
First is it safe to pull out my driftwood and clean it manually? This is a big piece and I'm worried about stirring stuff up.
Next us there a decent algaecide that won't hurt plants?
Right now during my weekly WC I pick the covered leaves off.
I use a tetra fert ever every week as well.

Any tips?
I have 3 Otto's and they do seem to help but it seems everything I do just make the algae boom back harder.
Does running the co2 at night make algae grow our does it also use oxygen at night?
