Algae help i think

S I was doing a little maintenance today I noticed a white stringy thing on a couple bunches of my hg also it is all inside of my intake and return tubes on my canister any idea what it could be?

It doesn't look much like algae but more like detris collected on a bit of hair or maybe thread algae. Plus algae isn't normally found inside a filter intake. Does it rub off easily? Is there enough current in the tank to keep detris from settling on things?
 
It does rub off easily I'm not sure if there is enough current I'm running a marineland 200 and a marineland c 220 canister to create flow
 
Yes there is a small current but I was thinking about. Getting a small circular pump.
