Aluminum foil?

So I went ahead and put aluminum foil in the light. Thinking that it would refract more light downward instead of losing it. Has anybody else done this.

that could work, but you are going to want the foil to be as smooth as possible, has any wrinkles will cause the light to diffuse instead of reflect.
